A tour through Switzerland and Italy of the music group CSC Djembe
November 21 - December 24, 2008 ASEM (Associazione a favore dell’Infanzia Mozambicana) is a solidarity organization founded in 1991 in Maputo by Barbara Hofmann, in order to help the children in Mozambique, a country devastated by many years of war. ASEM Italia Onlus raises funds for the reception centres, community schools and training centres managed by ASEM in Mozambique. ALTA MANE provided a financial contribution to the 2007 tour of the music group C.S.C. Djembe, formed by 8 kids coming from the ASEM reception centres in Beira, Mozambique. The music group, created in 1997, plays a fusion of the traditional Afro-jazz music and rap music and the lyrics are written in the various Mozambique languages (dialects) expressing the hardship of the children and young people, who are very often war or AIDS orphans.
