PROJETO AXE' is a Brazilian Association committed since 1990 to the recovery and social rehabilitation of street children and young people in Salvador de Bahia with activities addressed at developing artistic talent (dance, music, plastic arts, fashion).AMREF is Africa’s main health NGO, created in Nairobi in 1957, promoting and managing health projects in 6 East African countries.
Amref Italia, set up in 1998, supports the Children in Need Program for the social rehabilitation of street children in Nairobi, with social aid programmes and artistic initiatives, such as the Juakali Drummers Musical Workshop (started in 2005 in Nairobi with support provided by Dulcimer Fondation pour la Musique).
SUPPORT ALTA MANE
Since 2007 ALTA MANE has been promoting, coordinating and financially supporting the exchange programme between Projeto Axè and Amref’s Children in Need Program, through visits to the project’s various locations in order to stimulate a comparison between technical and cultural experiences concerning the social rehabilitation of street children in various social environments, and also in order to encourage an exchange of artistic experiences, including those linked to music, with special reference to percussions.
