Arts workshops (drawing, sculpture, glass painting) at the facilities of Empire des Enfants, Dakar The Association NIT NITEY GARABAM (that in the language of the Wolof people means “Man is man’s remedy”) was created in 2005 by a group of Senegalese artists and psychiatrists to organize arts workshops as a therapy for the patients hospitalized at the psychiatric hospital of Dakar as well as in the shelters for street children.

In 2009 ALTA MANE helped the association Nit Nitey Garabam to organize numerous arts workshops on the premises of Empire des Enfants, a temporary shelter for street children in Dakar. Five artists, coordinated by the famous glass-painter Moussa Sakho, have conducted weekly workshops (drawing, glass painting and sculpture) with the children and young people of Empire des Enfants.
