Support to the “RED Latinoamericana de Arte para la Transformacion Social” for the realization of Working Sessions in May 2009 (Dresden, Germany)

RED Latinoamericana de Arte para la Transformacion Social was founded in 2005 by 24 social and cultural organizations from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Peru, which use different artistic languages (dance, theatre, music, circus, visual arts) to promote social integration, citizenship awareness and human rights. Other organizations from Uruguay and Central America have since joined the network.

ALTA MANE helped fund the Working Sessions at the European Center for Contemporary Arts Hellerau in Dresden from 16 to 19 May 2009, by covering the travel costs of 11 representatives of RED Latinoamericana de Arte para la Transformacion Social. The aim of the Working Sessions was to facilitate inter-cultural dialogue on the importance of art in social development and the exchange of practices between Latin America and Europe.
