Multi-centric research project in art therapy in Switzerland (Geneva University Hospitals, Lugano Regional Hospital, Winthertur Cantonal Hospital)

The ART-THÉRAPIE FONDATION was established in Geneva in 2001 to assist child and adolescent in-patients in Swiss hospitals and their families using art therapy. Through art and the imagination, art therapy enables the expression of suffering and facilitates dialogue – also of a non-verbal nature – between children/adolescents and their families.

 

ALTA MANE is supporting a two-year research project (April 2010 – April 2012) in three Swiss hospitals, which has the aim of evaluating the impact of art therapy activities led by 3 art therapists in supporting adolescents with eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia) or who suffer from obesity.
