PSYCHIC-PHYSICAL HARDSHIP

Support to the project The Smile’s Medicine, within the Black Lion Hospital, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
The FEKAT CIRCUS is a cooperative created in Addis Ababa- Ethiopia, in 2009, by 10 young artists who grew-up on the streets of Addis Ababa. The FEKAT CIRCUS is supported by the Italian NGO CIAI since 2004 and organizes artistic and acrobatic performances to foster the social inclusion of children and adolescent living with social hardship.
Since July 2009 ALTA MANE sustains the clownerie activities undertaken by the Cooperative within the Black Lion Hospital, Addis Ababa, with children and adolescent hospitalized in the paediatric ward. Alta Mane also sustains clown therapy training for Fekat Circus artists, led by 2 Italian professional clowns. In addition, in 2011 ALTA MANE contributed to the construction of a theatre-gym for training of children and adolescnts of Addis Ababa by Fekat Circus artists.
