Project in collaboration with ASem

Support towards the construction of a “House of Culture” (theatre, music, dance) in Vilankulos (Mozambique) ASEM (Association in favour of the children in Mozambique) is a solidarity organization founded back in 1991 in Maputo by Barbara Hofmann to help the children of Mozambique, a country devastated by many years of war. ASEM Italia Onlus raises funds for the child homes, community schools and vocational training centres run by ASEM in Mozambique.

In 2008 and 2009 ALTA MANE covered the full cost of building a hall for drama, music and dance at a reception centre for disadvantaged children and adolescents in Vilankulos (Maputo), as well as its decoration by local artists. The hall will be used for artistic and self-sufficiency activities.
In addition, in 2009 ALTA MANE supported a training course in traditional Mozambican dance for the young dancers, former street children from the ASEM centres, who will go on to perform and teach at the “House of Culture” in Vilankulos.
Since 2010, ALTA MANE supports both the artistic activities (theatre and dance) realized within the House of Culture, Vilankulos, aimed at training 200 children and adolescents; and the artistic activities in the Asem Centres in Beira, aimed at training 500 children and adolescents.
