Project in collaboration with Grupo de Apoio Mutuo pe' no ChÃo

Support of Pé no Chao for arts laboratories organized for youngsters living in the slums of Recife (Brazil) The group of PE' NO CHÃO educators has been working for fifteen years with 120 children and adolescents living in the slums of Recife (North-East Brazil) through pedagogic-educational activities as well as arts laboratories: dance (popular dances, breakdance), music (hip hop, rap, percussions), capoeira, theatre, graffiti, video and photography, which are carried out directly in the streets.

Since 2009 ALTA MANE supports the project "Cabeça no futuro" (Head in the future) for the high-quality traing in afro-brazilian dance and music for children and adolescents of Pé no Chão, including a one-month workshop with 3 artists from Angola.

In 2010 ALTA MANE also contributed to the Italian tournée of "Magia negra", a piece realized by Pé no Chão in collaboration with the Theatre company Ophélia, Grenoble, France.
