Music workshops at the Day Center “Espacio Seguro” and at the Centro de Protección “Ciudad de los niños” (Málaga, Spain), for minors and youths with a migration background.
The project in detail
The “Ritmos de Resiliencia” project, developed by Save the Children España, aimed to:
- use the power of music as a tool to improve the well-being, mental health and social inclusion of unaccompanied minors and youths with a migration background;
- improve their musical skills and Life Skills;
- encourage their adherence and participation to the various activities offered at the Day Center “Espacio Seguro”.
- 53 minors and youths with a migration background (14-23 ages), including 7 unaccompanied minors (14-17 ages), and 46 youths (18-23 ages) fallen outside the State’s Protection and Welfare System.
In 2025, Save the Children España, also with the support of Alta Mane, carried out the following activities:
- offered 26 music workshops at “Espacio Seguro” (Málaga, Spain), and 9 music workshops at the Centro de Protección “Ciudad de los niños” (Málaga, Spain), reaching 53 minors and youths (14-23 ages), with a migration background;
- organized 3 live concerts, performed by 31 young beneficiaries (14-23 ages), reaching 39 people, including social aid-workers and people from the community;
- implemented different Monitoring & Evaluation Activities to assess the impact on beneficiaries in terms of psycho-emotional resilience.
