Beneficiaries

The association Baixada Social Circus was established by Terre des Hommes – Lausanne in 2002 to promote the socialisation and reintegration of street children from Baixada Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro through a circus programme. In April 2012 the association gained recognition as an independent Brazilian non-governmental organisation. 

Activities

In 2012 Fondation Alta Mane supported the Baixada’s circus and artistic activities in favour of 200 children and it contributed to the opening of community and institutional spaces for community therapy sessions, discussion groups and community meetings.

Founded in 1960, Fondation Terre des Hommes Lausanne works to improve the conditions of disadvantaged people in developing countries, with a particular focus on women and children.
